Catalog and smart search

CAICHAT has tens of thousands of characters. There are two ways to look for them: browse the catalog with filters and ready-made collections, or describe what you want in your own words in smart search.

🗂️ Catalog

The Catalog in the left menu shows all public characters. At the top there are popular categories — for example “Anime”, “Enemies to Lovers”, “Tsundere”. One click, and the catalog shows only characters with those tags.

Sorting: Trending, Most messages, Newest, Oldest, Most liked.

Filters open with the button to the left of the search bar. Find a tag with the tag search and tick it — the catalog immediately shows matching characters. The “−” button next to a tag does the opposite: it hides characters with that tag. Reset the filter brings back the full catalog. On a phone, click “Show” after choosing tags.

Why some characters aren’t visible

Characters with explicit (NSFW) content are hidden until you turn on showing them in your profile settings. After that, you can control NSFW with the NSFW switch in the catalog.

✨ Smart search

Smart search understands a request by its meaning, not by matching words. Write what kind of story you want: “a detective in Victorian London”, “a kind dragon guarding a village”, “a dorm roommate with a secret”. The search finds characters that fit the description, even if their profile doesn’t contain those words.

• You can dictate the request — the button in the search bar.
• You can turn smart search off with the icon in the search bar — then the search looks for a simple text match.
• Sorting isn’t available in smart search: results are ordered by how well they fit the request.

Tip

The more specific the request, the more accurate the result. Mention the genre, personality, setting and mood: “dark fantasy, a tough mercenary, distrustful but fair”.

👤 Character profile

A character’s profile has:

• a description and an author’s note — tips on how best to play with this character;
• tags;
• first messages, if the creator wrote several ways to start;
• message cost — how many tokens one reply costs with the selected model and extensions;
• the Discussions tab — comments from other users. Only registered users can leave comments;
• stats — creation and update dates and the character’s version. If you have already chatted with it, it also shows when you started and how many messages and words you and the character have written;
• “Your previous chats” — your chats with this character, if you have any;
• “Similar bots” and “Other bots from this author”.

If the creator allows it, the profile shows the bot instructions — the Personality and Scenario tabs — and the character’s lore.

On the character page, before the Start chat button, you choose the persona, the AI model and behavior and the extensions for a new chat. How this works is described in First steps.

❤️ Likes, favorites and sharing

• — a like or dislike helps recommendations and the creator’s rating.
• — how many messages have already been written in chats with this character.
• — add to Favorites. All saved characters are in the Favorites section of the left menu. To remove a character from there, click the red heart on its card.
• — share: send the character to Telegram, Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp, or copy the link. If you have referral campaigns, you can add your promo code to the link.

📰 Creators and the feed

Every creator has a public profile: their characters, followers and likes. Follow a creator to see their new characters in the Feed.

The feed also shows events about your own characters: who liked them, added them to favorites or commented, and who followed you. The Mark all as read button clears the counter of new events, and Subscribe in response is a quick way to follow someone back.

🚫 Blocking creators and reporting

Block a creator. If you don’t like a creator’s characters, open the menu on the page of one of their characters or in their profile and choose Block creator. All their characters disappear from the catalog and search. You can unblock a creator at any time: Profile → Settings → Blocked Creators.

Report. If a character or creator breaks the community guidelines, choose Report chatbot or Report in the creator’s profile. Tick up to five reasons and describe what’s wrong. Reports are reviewed by moderators.

❓ Related questions

A character disappeared from the catalog — why?

The creator may have hidden or deleted the character, or moderators removed it. Another common reason is filters: showing NSFW content is turned off, or you have selected tags the character doesn’t match. If you had a chat with this character, it stays in the Chats section.

How do I find a character I have already chatted with?

Open Chats in the left menu and find the chat by its title. Chats with a particular character are also shown in its profile, in the “Your previous chats” block.

How do I hide a particular creator’s characters from the catalog?

Block the creator — their characters will no longer be shown. You can unblock them in Profile → Settings → Blocked Creators.
